BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
Food and Beverage Sponsors: Come enjoy some
great networking, delicious food ONLY THREE MONTHS ARE LEFT Each month, the Chamber’s Business After Hours event attracts a great crowd. Host businesses gain from inviting customers and potential customers into their place of business. There are only three months still available to be reserved for a Business After Hours in 2007. September, November and December can still reserved by any member business desiring to serve as the host. Call the Chamber office for more information or to reserve a date. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CALLING ALL VBS PLANNERS Attention member churches who host Vacation Bible School programs: please post your dates on the online Calendar of Events as soon as possible. Not only will this help residents and visitors to plan ahead, the Chamber will be printing a "round up" of VBS dates soon! «

It's Bluebonnet Season
in Washington County! The roadsides and pastures are beginning to bloom and visitors are arriving daily to see our beautiful area. Please be alert to the added traffic, particularly those vehicles that stop in areas where perhaps they shouldn't. If you spot a good wildflower viewing area where visitors can safely park and shoot photos, please give us a call at 979-836-3695. With festivals coming up in April and May, spring is an exciting time for Washington County. Make plans to attend some of our great local events.

The Washington County Youth Initiative is implementing a pilot program this Spring that includes an 8-week job training session for 16-year-olds. After the training, the students will be matched with local employers. A mentor will also work with the youth to make sure the summer employment experience is successful for both the business and the student. If you have a summer job position that could be filled by an enterprising young person, please contact the Chamber office right away (979-836-3695). More details to follow in the next newsletter! |
