How
to Get Involved
The
Chamber encourages you, a member in the Chamber,
to get actively involved in some of the programs that are offered.
Here's how:
- Committees
and Task Forces - persons interested in serving on particular committees
are welcomed.
- Blue
Blazers - this "PR arm of the Chamber" is limited to 15
members who are selected by a committee. They are involved in Ribbon
Cuttings and take an active role in recruiting new members. Call the
Chamber and express your desire to apply as positions become available.
- Seminars
- held throughout the year on specific topics tailored to member needs.
- Leadership
Washington County - this annual 9-month program trains, educates
and motivates leaders for Washington County. Applications are available
beginning June 1.
- Business-After-Hours
- held monthly, these are casual social events at various businesses
to give Chamber members an opportunity to meet and network in a relaxed
atmosphere.
- Forum
Series at Blinn College - serves as an opportunity to become educated
and inspired by high-profile leaders from the business, political and
professional worlds.
- Annual
Banquet - held for Chamber members to celebrate the success of Washington
County, recognize volunteers and learn from high-profile speakers. Held
in early February each year.
- Washington
County Day at the Capitol - members are encouraged to spend the
day in Austin meeting with State lawmakers and leaders (held when the
Legislature is in session).
- Tourism
Tuesday - a roundtable meeting held bimonthly for all tourism-related
businesses.
- Educational
Programs that Connect the Workforce with Education - The Chamber
works closely with the schools to connect businesses with education
through the following programs: Texas Scholars, Adopt-A-Room, Junior
Achievement, Career Fair.
